Idaho – Stock Epinephrine Law

Congratulations! Idaho has a stock epinephrine law in place.

LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIES IN SCHOOLS – Amends and adds to existing law to authorize schools to voluntarily maintain a supply of epinephrine auto-injectors; to provide for the use of epinephrine auto-injectors; to authorize schools to enter into arrangements with manufacturers of epinephrine auto-injectors; to provide guidelines for participation; and to provide for protection from liability for Good Samaritans.  The Governor signed the law on March 19, 2014, and it went into effect on July 1, 2014.

However, our job is not done yet. Each law or regulation must be implemented or put into action by a board or an agency.

Allergy & Asthma Network supports stock epinephrine implementation in schools and provides education and resources to support a seamless rollout. For more information, visit:

ACE Team:

Susan Conti, RN of Post Falls High School
Post Falls, ID

Sample ACE Team Activity:

In August 2014, Ms. Conti presented anaphylaxis education during a school nurses consortium meeting in Northern Idaho. Participants included school nurses, state legislative staff, and families of children with life-threatening allergies. Participants were also trained on how to use epinephrine auto-injectors. Participants increased their anaphylaxis awareness and understanding of signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and its treatment. In addition, this event impacted legislation. Ms. Conti wrote in her reporting worksheet, “ACE has been so supportive and helpful with information and materials. You have made it easy to equip other people to effectively help in an event.”
